The organization and mechanism of the National Cancer Center can be broadly classified as indicated in the figure. Administrative work falls under the control of the administration department director, medical work under the hospital directors, cancer prevention and screening work under the director of the research center for cancer prevention and screening(RCCPS) and research work under the directors of the research institute; and responsibilities are clearly classified. The hospital isn't bound by the traditional organization of hospital departments and has assumed an organization that allows advanced treatment to be conducted organically. The RCCPS, in collaboration with hospital, promotes developing and establishing screening tecnologies, targeting cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. The research institute conducts various research to advance knowledge in cancer prevention, diagnosis and therapy for cancer control. The administration department has a statistics and survey section, division of policy-based medical service planning, library and such to support treatment, research and training. In this manner, the organization and mechanism of the National Cancer Center is such that the administration department, hospital, RCCPS, and research institute work together to conduct treatment, research and training as well as conduct leading edge medical care more effectively. In addition, the organization's greatest aim is to carry out a central role in cancer measures. |
