Gastric Surgery

Introduction

There is no independent Gastric Surgery Division in Hospital East. Surgeons in the Upper　Abdominal Surgical Oncology Division operate on all patients with gastric cancer.

Routine Activities

Every week, 5–6 patients are operated upon. A video conference on gastrointestinal malignancies is conducted from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm every Monday. During this conference, treatment decisions, particularly for surgical cases, are discussed with medical oncologists, endoscopists, radiologists, and surgeons who are present. Operative findings and pathological findings from the resected specimens are reported.
