Gastric Surgery

Introduction

In the National Cancer Center Hospital East, there is no independent Gastric Surgery Group. Surgeons of the Upper Abdominal Surgical Oncology Group operate on all patients with gastric cancer.

Routine Activities

Five to six patients are operated on in the Division every week. A film conference on gastrointestinal malignancy is held every Monday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. In the conference, treatment decisions are discussed, especially for surgical cases, together with medical oncologists, endoscopists, radiologists and surgeons. Operative and pathological findings from resected specimens are also reported.
