Nursing Division

Introduction

Recently, there has been a need to administer medical treatment to cancer patients in their homes, which serve as recuperation places. The focus of cancer treatment is therefore shifting from inpatients to visitor units, as exemplified by the increasing number of chemotherapy patients in the visitor unit of the National Cancer Center Hospital East (NCCHE). Chemotherapy follow up services by phone for patients have been provided by the Nursing Division.
The Division started follow up services by phone after discharge, screening discharge adjustments as support services, to provide cooperation with the visiting nursing station.
This year, 290 consultation cases were handled by the "Consultation services for cancer patients and families" organization of various medical staffs started in 2007.
In 2008, as a hospital management, the Division took an active part in the introduction of electronic medical records in our hospital and in preparation of examination by Japan Council for Quality Health Care.
