Analysis of Signaling Molecules Involved in The Differentiation of Neuroblastoma

The receptor-type tyrosine kinases ALK and Ret are regulating the proliferation and survival of neuroblastoma cells through phosphorylation of cellular proteins such as Shc family molecules. On the other hand, the suppression of the expression of ShcC, a neuro-specific member of Shc family proteins, could induce the differentiation of some neuroblastoma cell lines which overexpress ShcC. It was postulated that the interaction of Shc family molecules is regulating the prognosis of neuroblastoma by regulating of the differentiation of neuroblastoma cells and further analysis is being performed to elucidate the precise function of Shc family in neuroblastoma.
