Functional non-coding RNA and Cancer

RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) is a critical enzyme which is responsible for chromatin maintenance mediated by RNAs. While the existence of a functional mammalian homologue of RdRp has been predicted, such an enzyme has not yet been identified. Our goal is to identify the human RdRp and to study the biological significance of this enzyme, especially for the carcinogenic process. Moreover, we are screening to identify a novel compound that has a inhibitory effect for the RdRp activity.
