Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan assigned National Cancer Center (NCC) as a core of cancer genomics research in the Millennium Genome Project (Japanese website at http://www.kantei.go.jp/jp/mille/). In addition to the cancer research area, NCC is also expected play a central role in some of the genomics analyses for the 5 millennium diseases (Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, hypertension and asthma). To accomplish this mission, Center for Medical Genomics (CMG) was newly built in the Tsukiji campus of NCC on March 26, 2001. CMG has 4 stories above the ground and one basement, totaling 2,400 sq m floor space. ![]() For the review of the basic outline of the Millennium Genome Project and strategy of NCC CMG, crick here.
