In the ATLAS education project, we will develop and implement three educational programs related to clinical oncology research for physicians and clinical research coordinators (CRCs) in ASEAN countries and other Asian countries.
The programs are "Clinical Trials Support Program in Oncology", the "Cancer Genomic Medicine Program", and the "Phase I Program in Oncology". The goal is to implement these programs to healthcare professionals who will conduct global standard cancer clinical trials and provide daily basis cancer care using genomic medicine.

In addition to the online training, the ATLAS education project will provide practical on-the-job training (OJT) at our institution for doctors, researchers, CRCs, and other laboratory technicians, etc. who are engaged in clinical research in the Asian region. ICRweb, an e-learning site operated by the center, will be used for the part of the online lecture training.

Professor Hayato Miyaji, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Tokai University School of Medicine, is participating in the Cancer Genome Medicine Program as a co-investigator of this project. We will also support the introduction of the accreditation program for genomic testing under the global standard ISO 15189 to Asian countries, and provide comprehensive lecture and practical training in the field of cancer genomics.

Through these educational programs, we will develop human resources to conduct or support international collaborative research and strengthen the international clinical trial network throughout in Asia.
