Maestro Chung Visit

Maestro Myung-Whun Chung visited the National Cancer Center Hospital on January 27th, 2018. Playing the piano installed at the grand foyer for the event, he entertained the audience of patients

with their families and friends on the weekend afternoon. Alternating performances of Schuman and Chopin’s nocturne in between stories from his culinary life, enthusing of pasta and Italian food, and of growing olive fruit, the Maestro drew a vivacious response from the congregation.

The maestro also visited the paediatric ward, playing pieces from Schuman’s Scenes from Childhood, and Beethoven's Fur Elise, then switching sides, listening intently as part of the audience, and taking the lead in applauding a young patient’s performance of Mozart’s piano sonata No16 in c major K545 with a raucous ‘Bravo!’

This event was organized by the kind support offered by the Maestro Chung Family Club (MCFC), as part of their charitable activities. Maestro Chung’s generosity is greatly appreciated, wonderfully boosting emotional support to our patients.
