UK King’s Live 2020

UK King’s Live is a series of lectures on endoscopy live hosted by Professor Amyn Haji, King's College Hospital in the UK. Dr Yutaka Saito, Director of Endoscopy Center, NCC Hospital, has participated as international faculty since 2019, demonstrating ESD procedures, having obtained a temporary doctor's license in the UK.
UK King’s Live 2020 was held completely online on 11 November 2020. This year Dr Saito was able to present an ESD video and lectured on “Endoscopic submucosal dissection, indications, techniques and outcomes” on the web.

The 4th Kent Endoscopy Training Course

The 4th Kent Endoscopy Training Course took place14-15 December 2020 at the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mother Hospital.

Drs Yutaka Saito, the Director, and Seiichiro Abe, both of the Endoscopy Center, NCC Hospital, have been invited by Dr Zacharias, the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mother Hospital, as international faculty every year since 2017. Drs Saito and Abe had been conducting live ESD demonstrations and hands-on training in the field with a temporary doctor's license in the UK since 2017. Due to coronavirus travel restrictions the two participated in the form of pre-recorded ESD videos and also delivered lectures on the Web.

ASGE-JGES Masters Course in ESD

ESD is an endoscopic treatment developed in Japan, we take pride in sharing our knowledge with
endoscopists not only in Asia but also in the United States and Europe.
The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) have joined efforts  to bring advanced techniques to endoscopists.
On 31 October - 1 November 2020, a course was held online. Dr Yutaka Saito, Director of Endoscopy Center, lectured on “Colon including management of perforation during and after ESD”.
This course is held every year at the ASGE Institute for Training and Technology (IT & T) in Chicago, with Drs Saito, Seiichiro Abe and Hiroyuki Takamaru, Endoscopy Center, NCC Hospital. The course includes presentations from faculty on indications and methods for ESD.

Tokyo Live 2020

Tokyo Live was held on 20-22 November 2020, hosted by Dr Haruhiro Inoue, President of JGES, Professor at Digestive Diseases Center, Showa University Koto Toyosu Hospital. Every year, an endoscopic treatment at Toyosu Hospital is shared live, this year it was held online due to Coronavirus.
Endoscopic experts from all over the world participated, and Dr Yutaka Saito, Director of Endoscopy Center, NCC Hospital, gave lectures on the latest endoscopic diagnosis, ESD, and AI for Colon.

Joint Symposium between JGES and the Brazilian Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (SOBED)
On 22 November 2020, during the 19th Brazilian Gastroenterology Week (SBAD 2020), a joint symposium between the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) and the Brazilian Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (SOBED) was held online.
A total of 6 doctors from Japan participated, including Drs Haruhiro Inoue, Hironori Yamamoto, and Yutaka Saito, representing JGES. Dr Saito gave a lecture on AI for GI cancer, ESD for colorectal LSTs (standard methods with retroflex). Active discussions about AI and ESD in the colon took place.

Multidisciplinary Approach to Early Barrettʼs Cancer / ISDE Virtual Presentation

On 18 November, an online lecture by the International Society for Disease of The Esophagus was held, and Dr Seiichiro Abe, Endoscopy Division, NCC Hospital, gave a lecture on endoscopic treatment of Barrett's esophageal cancer. It is a disease with a low morbidity rate in Japan, and a very animated discussion with experts in Europe and the United States followed.

The 12th China-Japan Conference of Digestive Endoscopy

On 28 November 2020, the 12th China-Japan Conference of Digestive Endoscopy was held online jointly by Chinese Society of Digestive Endoscopy, CSDE and JGES. On the meeting chaired by Dr Yutaka Saito, Director of Endoscopy Center, Dr Seiichiro Abe, Endoscopy Center, NCC Hospital, gave a lecture on endoscopic diagnosis of early gastric cancer. Although held online this year, more than 6000 participants from China took part proving the event very popular.
