Visionary Strategy Planning Office
Introduction to the Visionary Strategy Planning Office
Guided by the National Cancer Centre's vision of “Committing to delivering the best possible treatment and prevention to all people through collaboration with society”, our Visionary Strategy Planning Office focuses primarily on the following two areas in our external activities:
- Working towards a world where patients can face treatment with sufficient options (Project Against Drug Lag/Loss)

- Translating the Centre's research seeds in cancer treatment, diagnosis and prevention to the bedside (Industry-Government Collaboration Project)
In particular, addressing drug lag/loss is considered a major challenge for Japan, especially given recent significant changes in the drug development landscape (the rise of emerging biopharma and biotech ventures overseas).
We are tackling this project in collaboration with stakeholders both within and outside the Institute, regardless of sector.
