The National Cancer Center (NCC), together with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), co-organized the first of a series of seminars on August 18th. In the seminar, kicked off by the president, Dr Hitoshi Nakagama, NCC staff shared first hand experiences at IARC, followed by lectures on how genomics can unravel the causes of cancer, and on cancer statistics and registries.

Designated as a Collaboration Centre of IARC's Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development (press release), the NCC is expanding room for cooperation with IARC.
