Cancer Registration Training in Vietnam

The National Cancer Center (NCC) Japan hosted a two-day cancer registration training in Hanoi, Vietnam from September 16-17, as part of the Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development (GICR) of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

A total of 26 participants, including cancer registrars from local hospitals and researchers took part in this training. The training was composed of lectures on the analysis of cancer registry data and hands-on practice of STATA (statistical software package) delivered by Dr Tomohiro Matsuda (Head, National Cancer Registry Section, NCC Japan) and Dr Kumiko Saika (Research Scientist, National Cancer Registry Section, NCC Japan) as well as lectures on the results of data analysis and survival analysis using STATA presented by Vietnamese experts, making this training a truly international collaboration between the two countries.
