On June 15, 2026, the National Cancer Center Japan (NCC Japan) welcomed a 14-member delegation, including officials from the Government of Himachal Pradesh and representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and related organizations. The visit was conducted as part of the preparatory survey on the project for strengthening the health system in Himachal Pradesh, supported by JICA, which aims to improve the quality of medical services in the state by upgrading medical equipment in secondary and tertiary hospitals and constructing a cancer hospital, thereby contributing to Universal Health Coverage.

After opening remarks by Ms. M. Sudha Devi, Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, the delegation was briefed on NCC Japan's overall organization, followed by in-depth explanations of the NCC Hospital and the Institute for Cancer Control. The program then concluded with a tour of the NCC Biobank.
The visit provided an opportunity to share NCC Japan's experience in cancer care, research, and control, and to engage in questions and answers on health system strengthening.
