Virtual Meeting with Peking University First Hospital, Celebrating the Conclusion of Memorandum of Understanding

An online ceremony and an academic conference were held jointly on May 13 to commemorate the establishment of a virtual scientific research organization with Peking University First Hospital (PKUFH) in China, which concluded a memorandum of understanding with National Cancer Center Hospital East (NCCHE). Followed by Dr Hui Jiang, Chair of the PKUFH Council and Dr Xinmin Liu, President of PKUFH, Dr Tetsuo Akimoto, Chief, Department of Radiation Oncology, NCCHE gave opening remarks. After the opening ceremony, two speakers from NCCHE, Dr Kenji Hotta, medical physicist and Dr Akimoto delivered the lectures respectively on the topic of "Medical Physics of Proton Therapy" and "New Advances in Proton Therapy". Approximately 200 participants attended the conference, and an active QA session took place. This commemorative meeting ended with closing remarks by Dr. Xianshu Gao, Chief, Division of Radiation Oncology at PKUFH, with whom Dr Akimoto enjoys a long-term friendship. Both institutions will expand collaborating further on training bilateral oncologists and conducting high-level academic exchanges in the future.
