ATLAS Project ATLAS Project

Project Summary

The Atlas Project is an initiative promoting international collaborative clinical trials for cancer treatment development involving Japan and other Asian countries such as Korea, Taiwan, China (Hong Kong), Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. With Japan’s population expected to decline, securing enough participants for large-scale clinical trials domestically will become increasingly difficult. At the same time, Asia as a whole is facing rapid population aging, which is expected to lead to a rise in cancer cases. Therefore, regional collaboration is essential to accelerating the development of cancer treatments. The Atlas Project was designed to establish a streamlined and efficient platform for conducting international clinical trials across Asia. We support clinical trial operations at participating institutions, cultivates clinical trial professionals through online courses and hands-on training and strengthens networks with researchers across the region. Having already carried out several international collaborative clinical trials within the network. We strive to bring innovative cancer treatments to patients more quickly by collaborating with regulatory authorities and pharmaceutical companies.
