Development of new diagnostics/therapeutics using abundant histopathological specimens and detailed clinical information

Cancer tissue specimens contain a variety of information related to malignancy or drug sensitivity. In recent years, with the development of newer drug therapies (chemotherapies such as anticancer drugs, molecularly targeted drugs, and antibody drugs), immunotherapies, and radiation therapies, there has been an increase in opportunities to view pretreated pathology specimens. By conducting clinicopathological studies in collaboration with clinical departments using untreated and post-treatment specimens, we are creating the basis for the development of new diagnostics/therapeutics.
