Dr. Thinh's story

I graduated in Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City in 2016 and obtained the Master's Degree in Oncology at Paris-Saclay University, France in 2018. During my Master's program, I had a 6-month internship at Gustave Roussy Institute, one of the largest cancer centers in Europe. My internship focuses on the role of protein NEIL1 in the repair of DNA interstrand crosslinks caused by alkylating agents. I have experience in cellular culture, protein purification, immunoblotting and basic knowledge in flow cytometry. In addition to my study background, I have been working as a pathologist at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital since late 2018 now. I am working on the field of surgical and molecular pathology and I am also one of the persons in charge for the installation of DNA sequencing at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital. I have intermediate exprerience in FISH, PCR and NGS as well.

Research interests

I was assigned to improve the molecular pathology of Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, especially the DNA sequencing part, so I have intermediate knowledge in this technique and its application. I have trong passion in translational research on cancer which relates sequencing technique, stem cell or cancer immunology, which can be useful for my hospital in the future. I wish to learn more about these fields in advanced institutions on the world.
