About C-CAT Data Utilization

The Center for Cancer Genomics and Advanced Therapeutics (C-CAT) aggregates the data of cancer gene panel (comprehensive genome profiling) tests covered by health insurance in Japan. In addition to the primary use for medical treatment, the information that have been agreed to use (provide to a third party) can be used for secondary use for the purpose of academic research and drug development. We will introduce how to make use of it.

Preliminary search by the Number-of-the-Record Search

The Number-of-Records Search function provides combination search by selecting clinical information and gene mutation results, just as the actual C-CAT Research-Use Portal site does, but it only displays the number of the search results.

We renewed the website.
October 4, 2021
We launched the C-CAT Research-Use Portal site and the Number-of-Records Search service. To use the C-CAT Research-Use Portal site for a research subjected to the ethical guidelines, researchers are required first to obtain approval from the Research Ethics Committee (REC) and the head of the affiliating institution. It follows a review of the data utilization application by the C-CAT Data Utilization Review Board, and once approved, a contract with C-CAT (National Cancer Center) is required for the data access license agreement [Go to the Steps from application to data utilization]
