実装科学 特別セミナーの開催について

このたび、実装科学に関心のある研究者・医療関係者・関係機関の皆さまを対象に、「実装科学 特別セミナー」を開催いたします。

実装科学は、エビデンスを実際の医療・公衆衛生・政策の現場に届け、患者・市民・地域社会の健康改善につなげるための学問領域です。本セミナーでは、実装科学に初めて触れる方にもわかりやすく、その基本的な考え方と、がん予防・公衆衛生領域における応用について紹介します。

当日は、実装科学の概念的基盤に関する講演と、がん予防・検診の現場における実践的応用に関する講演の2部構成で実施します。研究成果を「つくる」だけでなく、社会の中で活かし、持続的な変化につなげるための視点を学ぶ機会として、ぜひご参加ください。

プログラム

Lecture 1：Dr. Byron J. Powell

Title: From Evidence to Impact: The Role of Implementation Science

Abstract: This lecture will introduce the conceptual foundations of implementation science for researchers and stakeholders who are relatively new to the field. It will discuss why strong evidence alone is often insufficient to improve practice and population health, how implementation science complements biomedical, clinical, and translational research, and how implementation strategies and mechanisms can help make research findings actionable in real-world settings. A brief example from mental health implementation research in the United States may also be included.

Lecture 2：Dr. Maria E. Fernandez

Title: From Evidence to Impact: Applying Implementation Science in Cancer Prevention and Control

Abstract: Despite decades of investment in developing evidence-based cancer prevention and control interventions, substantial gaps persist between what we know works and what actually reaches patients and populations across diverse health systems worldwide. This lecture examines why even rigorously developed, evidence-based interventions often fail to achieve their potential in real-world settings, and how implementation science offers a complementary discipline focused not on whether interventions work, but on how to make them work, where, for whom, and at scale. Drawing on examples from cancer prevention and screening programs implemented across diverse contexts, from community health systems in the United States to global cancer prevention partnerships, the presentation will illustrate how proactive, context-sensitive design, using frameworks such as Implementation Mapping, can move research findings from efficacy to meaningful population impact. The lecture will address common misconceptions about implementation science among biomedical and clinical researchers, clarify the relationship between implementation strategies and their mechanisms of change, and highlight how multi-sector collaboration among researchers, healthcare delivery organizations, and policymakers is essential to closing the evidence-to-practice gap in cancer prevention and public health.
