研究について

病理・臨床検査科の医師は先端医療開発センター（臨床腫瘍病理部分野、バイオマーカー探索TR分野、病理・臨床検査TR分野）と併任になっており、がんの生物学的特性の理解や新規治療法開発を目指した研究に従事しています。また、新規抗がん剤開発にかかわるバイオマーカー検索やコンパニオン診断法の開発にも積極的に取り組んでおり、国際共同治験や東病院で実施される世界に先駆けたFIH （first in human） 試験における病理中央診断を担うなど、さまざまな臨床研究の推進に貢献しています。このほか、2017年に国立がん研究センター東病院が「がんゲノム医療中核拠点病院」に指定されたことに合わせて、病理組織標本を用いた次世代型シークエンサーによる遺伝子変異解析も運用が開始され、国立がん研究センター内外の部門・研究室との共同研究を推進してゆく予定です。
教育、研修に関しては、外科や内科からのローテーションや他大学からの研究生を積極的に受け入れており、検鏡の指導、カンファレンス、学会発表や論文作成など研究指導も行っています。

当センターの病理(病理臨床検査科・臨床腫瘍病理分野)はCOVID-19をきっかけとして、Webを通じた合同研究会を他拠点と定期的に開催し、交流を行っています。
